On Tuesday the 27th there was a blood drive that ran throughout the whole day. Students that participated received a t-shirt, drink, and snack after they gave blood. People who wanted to give blood in the community (including the teachers) could come in at any time and give blood as well. 76 people tried to give blood but only 52 were eligible. The students who weren’t able to was because they either had a recent tattoo, went out of the country, were sick, their blood was to thick, or they had a wrong amount of iron. The next blood drive is January 28th. If you are 16 you need parents permission and if you’re 17 you can give blood without a parents signature. If you donate blood twice you are eligible to win a 500 dollar scholarship. The Community Blood Center is the volunteered center who comes in to work our Blood Drives.
